While having lunch with my friend Pedro Costa, an architect based in Lisbon, a partner at a.s* – atelier de santos and writing about architecture in his weblog quando as catedrais eram brancas, we have addressed the notion of opacity and the broader span of our readers. Who reads us and to what extent is our information intelligible? After listening to his critical review of my writing and curatorial strategy (thank you), the question of “going public” became an actual issue. The collection of projects, references and events (my own and other people´s) seemed a website becoming a weblog becoming a facebook… and is becoming cryptic. Let’s try here an inversion in style… going both ways: getting more personal and less cryptic. Thank you Pedro for you insight, and I dedicate you the subtitles of the previous post. [pause]
