Buildings and Remnants is an essay-project curated by Inês Moreira and Aneta Szylak, which looks at the post-industrial condition through its buildings and spaces. Buildings and Remnants explores an interdisciplinary reading of space, architecture and post-industrial heritage through visual arts, architecture and moving images, exploring in the research the tools of anthropology, history or archeology (as field work or as documentation of traces). The project ́s most immediate aim is to commission a group of readings of thepost- industrial condition in Guimarães, departing from ASA factory, and amplifying it with other locations and wider concerns in other places in Europe (and in Asia). The project focuses on the existing architectures and explores other less physical dimensions of materiality, as the concepts of spatiality, performativity, immersion, memory, meaning, or the machinic and thefuturistic.
